Children’s Education
At School
We focus our efforts towards fighting the school dropout phenomenon through a number of initiatives such as enrolling children to schools, paying their tuition fees and providing school supplies (school uniforms, school bags, notebooks, pens ... etc.).
In our organisation’s building we also provide classrooms for homework as well as support lessons from professional teachers in order to help children once at school or those about to re-enter school. The children enrolled in these programmes are from primary and secondary educational levels.
In addition, we follow up on all children’s academic achievements in schools, monitoring progress closely so we are ready to help when required.
The number of beneficiaries of these projects reached 550 children. The support lessons had to stop due to the war at the beginning of 2015 however the rest of our education initiatives are still in place.
Extracurricular activities
Alongside its schooling programme, the organisation has implemented many different projects to benefit the children. These started from the beginnings of the organisation and were carried out annually and continuously until the end of 2014 at the start of the war.
1- Entertaining trips:
To entertain children and renew their activity to help them in their academic achievements by taking them to the beautiful and different regions of our country. Among those trips were to Daar Al-Ahjar area in 2006, Bani Matar region for the year 2007, visiting Kentucky Restaurant in the year 2011, and many other areas.
2- Educational and cultural trips:
We have organised many field visits to many national museums and archaeological areas to teach them about the great Yemeni civilization and planting in them the love of belonging and patriotism. As examples, we visited the National Museum in Sana'a several years, including 2006 and 2009, and various historical and archaeological such as Daar Al-Hajar in the year 2005.
3-Sport:
Two football teams were formed, the first for girls and the second for boys. They participated in matches against the Juvenile House (2008), the British Embassy (2009 and 2013). Sports Leagues were organised during the summer school holidays, and the organisations’ team won many cups and medals.
4- Graduation ceremonies and entertaining events:
We have organised graduation ceremonies for the students to be honoured for their academic achievement. These ceremonies include several parts, for example singing, speeches and plays performed by the students, various competitions and educational games.
5. Summer Courses
Every year during the summer holidays, the organisation held different cultural courses and activities, including courses in human development, first aid, painting and decoration, and participating with other bodies such as Himma Shabab team in various activities and events.
