Yemen Noor Foundation for Education and Relief - Relief

Relief

Since the establishment of the organisation, we have been implementing many projects in the field of relief. Before we had our own space, we were assisting the Social Care Home for Juveniles (boys and girls) and the women's sector of the Central Prison. We now support the families of the children whom we registered in education at our organisation at different levels and with the following Aid Projects:

- The food basket project, in which various essentials are distributed to families.

- The Eid new clothing project and the winter supplies project, which are distributed to the children's families whenever possible.

- Ramadan's Iftar: Group of multiple meals for the breakfast was served for the full beneficiaries (children) and other invited guests. The breakfasts involve giving speeches and some years, including 2006, 2007 and 2014, educational and cultural lectures.

We also provide medicines, cleaning products, clean water and other assistance to the families according to their needs.

Our main aim is to reduce pressure on children because the majority of them are the sole breadwinners for their families or at least important earners, hence providing them with greater opportunities to devote themselves to study and education.

The number of people benefiting from these Relief projects has increased over the years from 50 families in 2003 to 350. We still have a long waiting list of poor families needing immediate help that we will aim and include to our projects as soon as we have available resources.

YENOF in a Few Words

Yemen Noor Foundation for education and relief (YENOF), previously known as YERO, is a non-governmental organisation that was established in April 2003. It was set up to ensure access to education for children who drop out of school due to poverty.
In 2007, YENOF launched a parallel programme to help the children’s parents achieve self-sufficiency through mothers being included in sewing and embroidery workshops and interest free loans.
The embroidery programme quickly proved to be of great economic and social value. In 2019, it also was recognized for its cultural impact with workshops preserving and raising awareness of Yemen's rich and diverse embroidery and needle work heritage.
